Abstract Slug pulling, adhesion formation and edge fracture are major challenges in the sheet metal processing industry. They lead to a strong reduction part quality, process stability as well profitability. In this study, investigations carried out on stainless steel X5CrNi18-10 address previous mentioned challenges.
